| Chorale to perform with students |
The East Central Minnesota Chorale, under the direction of Mark Potvin, will present its 6th annual Scholarship Concert, Sunday, Feb. 21, 4 p.m. in the Richard Hardy Performing Arts Center, located in the Cambridge-Isanti High School, 430 8th Ave. NW, in Cambridge. At this festive concert the chorale will award two college scholarships to high school seniors planning to sing in choir as they go on to college.The program will feature Haydn’s Missa Brevis #7, in B-flat Major (The Little Organ Mass). Accompanying the choir will be seven string players as well as organ. Marie Palmquist, music director at Princeton High School, will be the soprano soloist. Joining the chorale for the Missa Brevis will be the Cambridge-Isanti High School Concert Choir as well as students from Princeton High School. Other selections on the program by the chorale will include the Credo from Great Mass in C (K. 427) of Mozart, and The Promise of Living by Aaron Copland. The CIHS Concert Choir will also perform Orietus Stella by Jacob Handl, The Seal Lullabye by Eric Whitacre, Omnia Sol by J. Randall Stroope and the spiritual, Daniel, Daniel, Servant of the Lord, arranged by Undine S. Moore. Adult tickets are $10 and can be purchased at K-Bob Café in Princeton, the Leader Store in Cambridge, or at the door. Admission for students, 17 and under, is free at Chorale concerts. This concert is made possible in part by funds from the East Central Regional Development Commission and the East Central Arts Council as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature. |
