Sales was the kicker for the Milaca Wolves football team this year. “People helped me a lot,” Sales said. “It was really cool.” This is his fifth time to the U.S. and he has a sister living in California. Sales said the people in Milaca are very friendly and he’s getting used to the colder temperatures.

Muehlenbein participated in swimming this year at Milaca High School. She visited New York City last year and said she likes the Minnesota Vikings. Now that swimming is over, she’s trying out for basketball this week.

Vega helped her host family harvest and can tomatoes this fall. She enjoys her host family, she said, but Vega left the states last weekend to return to her family in Mexico whom she missed terribly.

Chung recently made his acting debut in the states in the high school production of Sweeney Todd and he’s looking forward to playing basketball. Chung enjoys the quiet of the countryside here compared to the “small” city of Hong Kong he described.
