Over 450 veterans participated in the annual Veterans Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 29 in Wahkon. The event, which included a meal, entertainment and educational resources for veterans, was sponsored by the Mille Lacs County Veterans Services Office (VSO). The Onamia American Legion Color Guard performed “Taps” to honor those who have sacrificed for our country.

We were unable to make this years celebration, but if it was anything like last years, I'm sure we missed a great time. Kathy Kraft always puts her veterans first and is a great asset to Mille Lacs County. Thanks, Kathy and Mike.
