Community Education special event
Community Education Director Robert Sumner announced at the Aug. 13 board meeting that the Milaca Community Education will host “A Special Event” that raises money for Community Education programs for those with special needs. The event will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, and will feature live music from the Frog Hollow Boys and Friends. It will take place in the Milaca High School Gym and Cafeteria. Other fun activities at the event include a raffle, bake sale and games for all ages.
School board refunds bonds
The Milaca School Board approved refunding of two bonds totaling $4.95 million and $6.9 million each. There were stipulations as to when or if the financial company PMA Securities Inc. will sell the bonds to a buyer. If done, the refunds will save taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. The approval was unanimous.
