Milaca food shelf volunteer honored by Minnesota Food Share

Dawn Blonigen, who has volunteered at the Milaca Area Pantry for almost three years, was recently recognized at the Minnesota Food Share 2014 annual celebration.

Blonigen was one of 35 volunteers chosen from 300 food shelves in the state to be honored at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Park.

The ceremony, which was hosted on July 21, was cosponsored with the WCCO Good Neighbor program.

Blonigen will take over the roll of pantry director in the months to come following the expected retirement of current director, Carol Mueller.

The Milaca food shelf is open on Thursday’s from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 120 2nd Ave SW in Milaca. It serves the communities of Bock, Foreston, Milaca and Pease.
