The filing period for election to city and school seats opened July 29 and closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
The city of Milaca has three positions up for election: the mayor position now held by Pete Pedersen and two four-year council positions now held by Wayne Bekius and Norris Johnson.
Four positions are up for election on the Milaca School Board. Those positions are currently held by Todd Quaintance, Mark Herzing, Jody Chambers and Judy Pearson.
In order to file for election a person must be at least 21 and have lived in the jurisdiction for at least 30 days prior to election day. There is a $2 filing fee.
