BIDS CLOSE July 28, 2014
Sealed bids will be received until 9:30 AM, July 28, 2014 at the County Engineers office at 565 Eighth Street N.E., Milaca, MN 56353, at which time bids will be opened and read aloud for the following project:
SP 048-591-004; SRTS 4814(228) (Princeton, MN Safe Routes to School Project) located on 5th Avenue N and 12th Street N in Mille Lacs, MN. Approximate major quantities include 1,519 CY Common Excavation (EV), 429 CY Aggregate Base Class 5 (CV), 44 Ton Type SP 9.5 Wearing Course Mix (2,B), 25,386 SF 4 Concrete Walk, and 4,483 SF 6 Concrete Walk.
Prospective bidders must obtain bidding documents from the County Engineer at 565 Eighth Street NE, Milaca, MN 56353, or from the Mille Lacs County Website. Bids will only be accepted from those who are a documented plan holder. Proposals shall be submitted on the form provided in the bidding documents. Tentative award date: August 5, 2014.
Copies of the bidding documents are available for viewing and / or purchase at the County Engineers office. The cost for the bidding documents is $25. Bidders may elect to have the bidding documents shipped to them for a fee. A shipping charge of $25 will apply for each set of documents shipped (i.e. USPS, UPS, etc.). Bidding documents can also be viewed and downloaded online at no cost, visit the Mille Lacs County website at http://www.co.mille-lacs.mn.us/, go to the Department Tab / Public Works / Projects for Bid/E-Gram.
All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bidders bond payable to the County Auditor/Treasurer of Mille Lacs County for at least 5% of the proposal. The County reserves the right to waive any bid for non-conformity with the bidding process, or all bids at its discretion. Alternately, the County may waive minor non-conformities at its discretion.

A copy of Minnesota Statute 363A.36 and Minnesota Rules, parts 5000.3400 to 5000.3600 is available upon request from the contracting agency.
It is hereby agreed between the parties that this agency will require affirmative action requirements be met by contractors in relation to Minnesota Statute 363A.36 and Minnesota Rules 5000.3600. Failure by a contractor to implement an affirmative action plan or make a good faith effort shall result in revocation of its certificate or revocation of the contract (Minnesota Statute 363A.36, Subd. 2 and 3).
A minimum goal of 4.3% Good Faith Effort to be subcontracted to Disadvantage Business Enterprises.
