It will be a grand celebration on this nation’s birthday Friday when Bock hosts its annual Fourth of July Parade.
The parade begins, as always, at 3 p.m., and as tradition, anyone is welcome to participate.
“It is unique that we don’t charge anyone to be in the parade,” said Margaret Girard, one of the organizers of the parade.
The Kountry Kettle cookout will run 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and other events will take place throughout the afternoon, including face painting, K&E Concessions, vintage games, Uncle Gerry’s Treats and pick-a-duck. At 8 p.m. Roy’s Place will have live music and food.
“It’s a great big party with local people, and you get to see people that you haven’t talked to in a while because you’re busy,” Girard said. “We’re here to have fun.”
Girard was also quick to pin the success of the event on the local help.
“One reason this is so great is all the wonderful volunteers,” Girard said.
Anyone wishing to participate or learn more about the annual events can call Girard at 320-556-3318 or Sharon at 612-390-9880.
