Milaca can’t gain traction at presection meet

The girls from section 6AA met at Blackberry Ridge in Sartell for a preview of the upcoming section meet last Monday.

All 10 teams from the section attended, with Kimball-Eden Valley-Watkins unable to field a full team.

Of those teams, Milaca finished eighth with a 432, six strokes behind seventh place Wadena-Deer Creek and 94 behind first place Osakis.

Emily Israelson of Staples-Motley took home medalist honors with a 74, and helped her team finish in second place with a 354.

Milaca’s top finisher was Hoskins with a 104, good enough for a tie for 25th place.

Other scores for the Wolves were Olivia Wolbert (106), Elaina Davis (110), Molly Banks (112), Leah Crain (113) and Alicia Wolbert (116).

Milaca and the rest of section 6AA will tackle the course again on June 2-3 to try and advance to state.
