Milaca was seeded No. 1 and drew a bye for the first round of the Section 7AA South Sub-Section Wrestling Tournament Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Chisago Lakes.
Chisago Lakes, seeded No. 2, also drew a first round bye. The Wildcats are the defending Section 7AA champion.
No. 3-seeded Mora will face No. 7-seeded Pine City and No. 4-seeded Princeton will meet No. 5-seeded North Brach in matches at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Milaca will meet the Princeton-North Branch winner while Chisago Lakes will meet the Mora-Pine City winner in matches at 7 o’clock. The winners of those matches will advance to the Section 7AA Tournament Friday, Feb. 14, at Cloquet where they will join the top two teams from the North Sub-Section.
Rush City-Braham was seeded sixth in the South Sub-Section but will compete as the fifth seed in the North Sub-Section.
Milaca topped Chisago Lakes, Mora, Princeton and North Branch during the regular season. Its wins over Princeton and North Branch were by one point.
Milaca closed the regular season by topping Zimmerman and Sauk Rapids-Rice in matches Thursday (Feb. 6) at Milaca.
