Former Mille Lacs County Commissioner E.A. “Stub” Strelow passed away on January 10 at the Mille Lacs Long Term Care Center in Onamia.
Strelow, age 87, was a long-time commissioner on the Mille Lacs County Board, where he represented the Onamia area for a total of 16 years on the board.
After marrying Phyllis Mott in 1948, the Strelows moved to Onamia, where Strelow eventually took on many jobs, including delivering milk in the area. Strelow was also a real estate broker.
Strelow eventually became very well known to people in the area after becoming a sheriff’s deputy.
Strelow served four terms on the Mille Lacs County Board. His first three terms were separated by the term of Harold Willis. Strelow then returned to the board to serve one more term.
