Milaca High School drama students performed their own bit of magic in the production of “The Miracle Worker,” the story of Helen Keller and her teacher, Annie Sullivan. The play took audience members on a journey through Keller’s life — from birth to the historical breakthrough when the child learned to communicate despite being blind and deaf.

Pictured above, Captain and Kate Keller (played by Tristen Maetzold and Bailey Whittemore) are overjoyed when Helen (Olivia Larson) learns to communicate through sign language thanks to the dedication and persistence of her teacher, Annie Sullivan (Ashley Cope).
