Funeral services for Thomas Striker, 85, of Foreston, were Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at the Foley Funeral Home Chapel in Foley with the Rev. Barbara Peterson officiating. Burial with full Military Honors was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.
Thomas died Aug. 14 at the DVA Medical Center in St. Cloud.
He was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Ericson, Neb., to Charles and Martha (Jackson) Striker.
He married Mary DeLoris Dittrich on Oct. 3, 1948, in Stanton, Neb. The couple lived and ranched in Nebraska before moving to the Foreston area in 1967. Thomas farmed for many years near Foreston and also sold real estate for more than 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of the National Farmers Organization and a U.S. Army veteran. Thomas would never pass up a good game of pool.
He is survived by his children, Larry of Foley, Bonnie Meyer of Foley, William of Killeen, Texas, Peggy (John) Holewa of Hillman and Scott of Foreston; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; special friend Loretta of Watkins; brother Russell of Milaca; and sister Amy Liemer of Brunswick, Neb.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary DeLoris on Feb. 5, 2006; daughter Karen Wager; son-in-law Blaine Wager; daughter-in-law Ann ‘Sue’ Striker; brothers, Bob, Frank and Elton; and one infant brother.
Arrangements were by the Foley Funeral Home in Foley.
