Residents, vendors and participants are gearing up for the annual Foreston Fun Days slated for July 19-21.
Foreston Fireman’s Relief Association kicks off events Friday, July 19 with a steak fry from 5 to 8 p.m. followed by DJ karaoke at 9 p.m. at the Foreston Liquor Store.
Crafters and vendors are signing up to partake in the second annual Arts & Crafts Show. Additional artists are encouraged to call Marlene Weikert at 320-294-5274 for more information or to sign up.
Wake up early, grab a bat and head to the fields. The softball tournament starts at 8 a.m. Saturday. All interested teams should call Dan Hammill at 320-360-0670 to sign up and for information. ASA rules apply to the tournament.
Volleyball fans will have the chance to compete at 8 a.m. as well. To register, call Mindy Schroeder at 320-310-9175.
New this year will be the first Foreston Forever Faithful Fun Walk/Run & Kids Run. Packet pickup and same day registration starts at 6:30 a.m. and finishes at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Packets will also be available at the steak fry Friday evening.
The 5k run/walk starts at 8 a.m. and the Kids’ fun run begins at 9:05 a.m. at the St. Louis Cathoic Church.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the St. Louis Christian Mothers. A bake sale will be available during the run and after, as well as door prizes to be announced after the kid’s fun run.
To register for either of the runs/walks, call Chrissy Schoenborn at 320-294-5560. Pre-registration for the 5k is open until July 20 and costs $20, which includes a T-shirt. Same-day registration will cost $25 and a shirt is not guaranteed. The cost for the Kids’ run/walk is $10 for pre-registration and also includes a T-shirt. Same-day registration for the Kids’ run is $15.
Saturday also features a classic car show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. along Washington Avenue in Foreston. Catch some of the beauties again as they follow the parade that begins at 2 p.m. In the case of rain, the parade will be postponed until Sunday, July 21. As the parade wraps up, Kiddie Waterball begins at the Foreston Fire Hall, followed by the firefighters dueling waterball at 4:30 p.m.
The street dance featuring In The Fields finishes the day of events at 9 p.m.
Sunday, July 21 St. Louis Church is serving breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon.
After a good, full meal, head over to the ball park for softball tournament finals that begin at 8 a.m.
Turkey bowling wraps up the weekend of Foreston Fun Days at 2 p.m. at the Foreston Liquor Store.
