Milaca’s girls track and field could lay claim to that honor after winning the Class A state championship at Hamline University in St. Paul Friday and Saturday.
Milaca and Warroad both scored 42 points to share the title.
Milaca senior Kaija Crowe won the 200-meter dash, placed third in the high jump and fourth in the 100-meter dash.
Sophomore Allie Terpstra finished second in the 100-meter hurdles and combined with Crowe, junior Sarah Forker and sophomore Irina Danilyuk to placed fourth in the 4×200-meter relay.
