The Rum River

The Rum River

The public is invited to help kick off the Major Watershed Restoration and Protection project for the Rum River watershed from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Isanti County Government Center Board Room, 555 18th Avenue SW, Cambridge.

The project is part of the MN Pollution Control Agency’s (MPCA) Watershed Approach, which targets water restoration and protection efforts based on Minnesota’s major watersheds. Project results will include plans to improve impaired lakes, streams and rivers throughout the watershed, as well as protect good conditions where they exist. The event will include brief presentations on the Watershed Approach, the Rum River watershed, project timelines, and information on how to get involved in the process. Following the presentations there will also be an open house with refreshments to view displays and speak directly to MPCA staff and other project partners.
