Give Me 5 trailer found

Give Me 5 trailerThe Give Me 5 aluminum can trailer has been recovered by Milaca police and no one could be happier than program Director Kathy Fitschen.

“It’s down there and people are using it already, so that’s great,” Fitschen said.

The signs that once indicated proceeds from aluminum can donations would benefit the Community Education mentor program will be replaced, she said.

“We were able to ascertain the location of the trailer through an informant,” said Milaca Police Chief Todd Quaintance.

It was found at a residence in the county that is believed to be abandoned. Although local authorities have several people of interest in the case, Quaintance is not releasing any names of the suspects.

“It is an ongoing investigation,” he said.

Johnson towing donated the expense of retrieving the trailer and Fitschen said she is grateful for the outpouring of community support during this time. She said a hitch lock will be promptly placed on the trailer to prevent future incidents.

In the meantime, cans are beginning to pile up in the trailer once again to help support the area youth program.
