Milaca topped Princeton 67-65 in a Granite Ridge Conference boys basketball game Thursday night (Feb. 14) at Milaca.
The Wolves led 31-28 at halftime. Both teams held leads in the second half.
Milaca topped Princeton 87-71 Jan. 15 at Princeton.
Little Falls topped Milaca 86-59 Feb. 5 at Little Falls and Becker stopped the Wolves 71-58 Feb. 7 at Becker.
Little Falls, which leads the GRC with a 10-1 record, rolled to a 39-23 halftime lead, then outscored Milaca 47-26 in the second half.
“It was a frustrating game,” said Naumann. “We started out alright, handling their pressure and contesting their shots. But we started getting beat off the dribble and letting them pass the ball to the perimeter, which is their game.”
Junior guard Justin Fransen led Milaca with 23 points.
Becker took a 31-25 halftime lead, then outscored the Wolves 40-33 in the second half.
Fransen paced Milaca with 22 points while junior guard Brian Kiel had 10 points.
“We played sloppy to start the game,” said Naumann. “In the second half we really struggled with their 2-3 zone. Overall, our shooting and poor defense doomed us.”
Milaca hosts Foley Thursday, Feb. 21.
