MSF unveils new website
After more than a year of development, the Milaca Scholarship Foundation is now on the internet.
The Milaca Scholarship Foundation recently expanded their connection and resources for the community by creating a new, state-of-the-art website.
“The website provides a ‘one stop shop’ for information and resources for students, parents, teachers, alumni, and those interested in donating toward scholarships,” said MSF president Ken Bergstrom. “We hope that the new website will improve communication between The Milaca Scholarship Foundation and our community. Also, probably the most potentially valuable improvement is that students applying for scholarships with us, may also be matched with national scholarships, if they meet the criteria.”
The online tool will help match students to possible national scholarships via the Scholarship America Dollars for Scholars Network.
Information and photos of past and upcoming fundraising events, a donation portal, local student volunteer and internship opportunities, financial aid resources, and helpful college success tools are also available at the site.
“The site has been in development for the past year. Scholarship America provided the site and template, and we just had to put in our information and tailor it to MSF. This website is provided as a benefit of our partnership with their organization,” Bergstrom said. “The Milaca Scholarship Foundation would like to especially thank Pete and Karen Hydukovich for their many hours spent developing the site. Also, thanks to our partner organization Scholarship America Dollars for Scholars, which provided and hosts the site.”
Students applying for scholarships for fall 2013 will need to complete their profile and application via the new website. It is recommended that this process be started the first week in February. The application deadline is Friday, March 22.
“We do plan to keep it up to date with new options as they become available,” Bergstrom said.
