Mille Lacs County Commissioners Genny Reynolds, David Oslin, Timothy Wilhelm, Phil Peterson and Roger Tellinghuisen were sworn in at the last board meeting and elected Peterson to serve as the board’s chair.

Commissioner Phil Peterson of District 3 (cities of Milaca and Foreston, Milaca Township) was chosen chair of the Mille Lacs County Board at its Jan. 8 meeting.

Peterson, in his 11th year as a commissioner, was chair of the board in 2011.

Commissioner Roger Tellinghuisen, Milaca (District 4) was chosen vice chair.

Peterson and Tellinghuisen were re-elected to their positions last November. They and new commissioners Genny Reynolds (District 1), Tim Wilhelm (District 3) and Dave Oslin (District 5) were sworn in at the meeting.

The board will continue to meet at 9 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, with work sessions to immediately follow the second meeting of each month.

The second meeting of this month will be on Jan. 22.

Committee appointments were also made, with many changes from 2012 since the makeup of the board is quite different.

County depositories will be the same as in 2012.

Dr. Quinn Strobl was reappointed county medical examiner.
