Grant opportunity for local non-profits

Mille Lacs County has been awarded $4,555 emergency funding for food and shelter from the Emergency Food and Shelter Program National Board State Set-Aside funds.

The local board for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program consists in part with members from the  Central Mille Lacs United Way, the Mille Lacs County Salvation Army, the Milaca Ministerial Association, Pearl Crisis Center, Volunteers of America, the American Red Cross, the three food pantries in the county as well as Lakes and Pines C.A.C.  This board will determine which agencies will receive this funding.

Under the terms of this grant, local agencies chosen to receive funds must 1) be private voluntary non-profits or units of government; 2) have an accounting system; 3) practice non-discrimination; 4) have demonstrated the capacity to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs.

Box 42 Milaca, MN 56353. Applications must be postmarked by January 24, 2013 to be considered for this grant.
