Carol L. Guimont age 74 of Aitkin, MN passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her family.
Carol Lee Guimont was born December 9, 1938 in Princeton Township the daughter of Oscar and Leona (Reed) Kostanshek. She married Bradley I. Guimont on December 29, 1953 in Minneapolis, MN.
Carol was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Deerwood, MN, the Princeton Moose Lodge and the Deerwood American Legion Auxiliary. She and Bradley were also members of the Minnesota Foster Care Association. Together, Carol and Bradley foster parented 17 children.
Carol was very committed to a loving family and family unity. She was a strong and caring woman who always put others ahead of self. She had an amazing ability to adapt and make anything and everything work. Carol had many talents and an endless energy to share her gifts.
Carol is survived by her children: Robin (Kevin) Lease of Milaca; Patrick (Laura) Guimont of Aitkin; Michael (Alice) Guimont, Paul (Michelle) Pieper and Tony Guimont all of Princeton; Beverly (Scott) Mercer of Park Rapids; Tina Rohrich of Fargo: 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sisters: Eunice (Roland) Barnes, Shirley (Merle) Brink and Sandy (Steve) Meixell; brothers: John (Sue) Kostanshek and Basil Kostanshek.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Bradley; parents: Oscar and Leona Kostanshek.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 11:00 AM Friday, January 11, 2013 at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish North Campus, Princeton, MN with visitation from 9:30 to 11:00, prior to the Mass at the church. Interment at the Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton, MN.
