Funeral services for Amanda Joy Roos, 29, of Sartell, Minn. were Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, Minn. with the Rev. Ronald Weyrens officiating. Burial was at the parish cemetery. Memorials are preferred. The family will be setting up s scholarship for nursing students in honor of Amanda’s great passion for nursing.
Amanda died Dec. 2 at her home.
She was born May 11, 1983 in St. Cloud, Minn. to Arlen and Joyce (Kirchner) Roos. She lived in the Sauk Rapids area most of her life and worked for a short period in medical records at CentraCare Health Plaza. Amanda attended Willmar Technical College, Alexandria Technical College and St. Cloud Technical College, her ultimate goal was to be a nurse. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she volunteered at Vacation Bible School.
Amanda was an independent, caring, loving, trustworthy person who was always concerned about other people. She enjoyed karate, coaching color guard and marching bands, and was very proud of the four degrees she earned, Administrative Assistant, Health Information Technology, Medical Receptionist and Certified Nursing Assistant. She truly enjoyed spending time and making memories with her nephews, Landon and Lane Marxhausen.
She is survived by her parents Arlen (Kim) Roos of Sauk Rapids and Joyce Roos of Sauk Rapids; sister Sarah (Derek) Marxhausen of Milaca; step-brother Justin (Laura) Hill of Sartell; grandmothers, Martha Kirchner of Sauk Rapids and Helen Roos of Sauk Rapids; nephews, Landon and Lane Marxhausen of Milaca; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Amanda was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Adolph Kirchner and Bartel Roos; and uncle Daniel Kirchner.
Arrangements were by the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids.
