Man convicted of sexually assaulting 6-year-old
A Milaca man has been convicted of three of the four counts of criminal sexual conduct he faced stemming from an incident in August, 2010.
Gary Lee Burnett, Jr., 32, was found guilty of one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct involving a child who was 6-years-old at the time of the abuse.
Burnett was tried in Douglas County court following a hung Mille Lacs County jury trial in February. Mille Lacs County Prosecutor Melissa Saterbak tried the case and Judge Steven A. Anderson presided.
Currently housed in the Mille Lacs County Jail without bail, Burnett is awaiting sentencing. He faces a minimum of 25 years in prison.
