Missing girl found safe
A Facebook photo and message concerning a missing girl went viral locally, overwhelming the Milaca Police Department when calls came streaming from area residents with questions.
The online image made it appear as though Dresden Holland, 17, was a Milaca resident who had suddenly disappeared. Milaca Police Chief Todd Quaintance said the Facebook posts made Tuesday morning quite chaotic for dispatchers.
According to Stearns County Detective Andy Rose, Holland went missing Thursday, Nov. 8 from his jurisdiction and not Mille Lacs County.
“She is believed to be a runaway,” Rose said.
Family thought she may have been at a residence in Milaca and local law enforcement was contacted to conduct a search.
Quaintance said several checks at the residence have not been successful in finding the girl.
“We’re trying to do what we can to help this other jurisdiction track her down,” Quaintance said.
Detective Rose said Holland was last seen in a green Pontiac Grand Prix. She is 5’ 7” tall and weighs 115 pounds. If physically located, people are asked to call the local law agency. For general information, tips and questions, call the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office at 320-259-3700.
A Facebook comment posted Friday, Nov. 17 indicated the girl had been found, citing Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Jon F. Lentz as a source.

HUH? “Believed to be a run-away,” is a bit far-fetched I think. As a former MILACA RESIDENT now 1600 miles from there, I’d say get down to the rivers and start searching!
While looks can be deceiving, I’d say she’s no runaway!
The headline “Missing girl last seen in Milaca” just perpetuates the misinformation. Nowhere in the article does it say she was actually seen in Milaca, just that they looked for her at a residence. This kind of reporting does not help law enforcement with their difficult job of finding her.
UPDATE FOUND SAFE: Dresden Holland has been located and is safe. SOURCE: Jon F. Lentz, Lieutenant, Stearns Co. Sheriff’s Office, 320-259-3775.
