St. Anthony tops Milaca in Section 5AA volleyball
St. Anthony defeated Milaca 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the Section 5AA Volleyball Tournament Tuesday night, Oct. 30, at St. Anthony, ending the 2012 Wolves’ season.
St. Anthony won the first two games 25-19, 25-20, then clinched the victory by taking the third game 25-15.
St. Anthony was seeded No. 3 in the tournament while Milaca was seeded No. 11. The Wolves topped No. 6-seeded Minneapolis DeLaSalle in the opening round.
In other quarterfinal matches Tuesday, No. 4-seeded Breck topped No. 5-seeded Park Center 3-1, No. 1-seeded Maple Lake handled No. 9-seeded Becker 3-0 and No. 2-seeded Zimmerman stopped No. 7-seeded Rockford 3-0.
The tournament continues with semifinal matches tonight (Thursday, Nov. 1). Breck is at Maple Lake and St. Anthony travels to Zimmerman.
The championship match is Saturday, Nov. 3 at Rockford at 7 p.m.
