Fast start moves C-I swimmers past Milaca

Cambridge-Isanti got off to a fast start as it defeated Milaca 103-78 non-conference girls swimming and diving dual Thursday, Oct. 11, at Cambridge.

The Bluejackets placed first in the opening three events to take a 33-13 lead.

Milaca’s top placers included:

•Sarah Forker who won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.60 and placed third in diving with a score of 173.80.

•Rachel Airhart who won the 100 freestyle in 1:00.12. Ashley Cassens was third in 1:02.33. Airhart also placed second in the 200 freestyle in 2:14.74.

•The team of Rachel Airhart, Tara Airhart, Cassens and Forker which won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:48.09. The team of Hannah Johnson, Sami Mitchell, Leah Crain and Clair Coffee placed third in 1:55.44.

•The team of Forker, Mitchell, Ori Scherer and Tara Airhart which placed third in the 200 medley relay in 2:08.77.

•Mitchell who was second in the 200 individual medley in 2:40.46.

Cambridge, leading 103-53, swam exhibition in the final two events.

Milaca, which concluded its dual season Tuesday against Ogilvie, is idle until the Granite Ridge Conference Meet Oct. 27, at Sartell.
