Funeral services for Julia Hennek, 93, of Milaca, and formerly of
Foley, were Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Foley with the Rev. Timothy Rewaldt officiating. Burial was at the Parish Cemetery.
Julia died Sept. 17 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1919 in Bemidji, Minn. to Michael and Augusta (Dropps) Swalbowski.
She married Lester Beireis on March 3, 1938 and he preceded her in death. She then married Albert Hennek July 13, 1962. She lived in Wayzata and Foley areas. For many years she worked as a nanny and house keeper in Wayzata. She was an actress and played a part in the movie, ‘Heart Break Kid’. She also worked as a caterer and cook. Julia volunteered many hours and was named ‘Volunteer of the Year’ in Foley and was a Foley Fun Days Ambassador. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, traveling and fishing had a great sense of humor. She was a fun-loving person and was a joy to be around. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law June Beireis of West Richland, Wash.; grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Beireis of Houston, Texas, Peter (Anne) Beireis of Alameda, Calif., Joy (Stefan) Beireis-Molnar of Alameda, Calif. and Jill (Robert) Creigh of Inwood, W.V.; 11 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sisters, Caroline Bolz of Milaca; Jean Kaeding of Hopkins; sister-in-law Julia Swalbowski of Foreston; and many nieces and nephews.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert; son Robert; and siblings, Fred, Ed, Walt and Martha Hagedorn.
Arrangements were by the Foley Funeral Home in Foley.
