Pearl sale sets record

The annual Pearl Crisis Community Sale last week broke a record.

Hundreds of community members came out to shop the local non-profits tables of donated clothing, household items and furniture. The center said sales from the event totaled more than $2,000. Last year’s event brought in more than $1,700.

Pearl’s Denise Prokott said all of the money raised will benefit area survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

“A big thanks to the community that came out with their support,” she said.
