Bluegrass fans and music lovers of all genres are gearing up for the annual Rec Fest bluegrass festival slated for July 27-29 this year at Recreation Park.
Featured this year include Eel Pout Stringers, Roe Family Singers, Sawtooth Bluegrass Band, Sloughgrass Family Band, The Boys N The Barrels, Northern Lights, Ruby Magpie, Shaffer’s Lost 40, Kingery Family and the Mathison Family Fiddlers.
Bring an instrument and pick along with various jam tents and workshops, geared toward beginning, intermediate and experienced pickers alike.
Back by popular demand is the Artist/Craft show, sponsored by the Milaca Fine Arts Council. Attendees can browse the products of some of the area’s most creative artists and craftsmanship. A hands-on Children’s Art tent will also be available Saturday, July 28 for painting, sculpture, clay and puppet making.
Stay the entire weekend with $20 camping alongside the banks of the Rum River near 14 miles of hiking and biking trails. Camp sites are also near the newly installed, professionally designed disc golf course. Reservations can be made by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The festival also offers free parking within walking distance and a free shuttle service.
Day passes are available at the door and cost $10 for Friday, $15 for Saturday, and $5 for Sunday. A weekend festival pass is $20 and grants entry to all the weekend’s activities.
