Carol Anne Hixson was born on October 25, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Her parents were the late James Everett and Edith Beatrice (Jaeger) Hixson. Carol was baptized on April 14, 1946 and confirmed on May 4, 1947 at the Community Methodist Church in Minneapolis. Carol grew up in Columbia Heights, Minnesota and graduated with the class of 1954 from the Columbia Heights High School. On April 12, 1958 Carol was married to Raymond Baune and they lived in Columbia Heights until 1964. Together they raised five sons: Daniel, Curtis, Scott, Roger and Charly. In 1964 they moved to Osseo, Minnesota where they resided until 1968. The Baune family owned and operated a dairy farm near Milaca, Minnesota between 1968 and 1991, and established Baune’s Minnesota Farmstead Cheese in 1975.  Carol resided in Crosby and Emily, Minnesota from 1991 to 2003, and then she made her home in New York Mills before moving to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota in 2010 due to health reasons. Carol enjoyed reading; she read about a thousand pages per week.  On July 9, 2012 Carol passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, James and Edith Hixson; and son, Daniel Baune.

Carol is survived by her sons: Curtis (Aldyth) Baune of Bunbury, Australia; Scott Baune (Virginia) of Princeton, Minnesota; Roger (DiAnne) Baune of Phoenix, Arizona; and Charly (Tara) Baune of New York Mills, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Alice Baune of Fostoria, Ohio; sisters: Della (David) Jenkins of Rochester, Minnesota; Ellen Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother, James (Bettina) Hixson of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; many other relatives and a host of friends.

Arrangements were provided by the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home in New York Mills, Minnesota.
