The three-way race for the DFL nomination in the Eighth District U.S. Congressional primaries has whittled that number to one.
Convention delegates overwhelmingly voted former Minnesota Congressman Rick Nolan as their choice in the fall race against Rep. Chip Cravaack in Duluth last Saturday.
Nolan entered the race last summer with a populace message he’s campaigned on in Milaca on several occasions. His top issues include ending the war, paring back tax cuts that benefit the wealthy and creating jobs.
He received the endorsement on the first ballot with 76 percent of the vote. It is unclear whether rivals Tarryl Clark or Jeff Anderson will honor the DFL’s endorsement or continue to vie for summer primaries.
