Girl Scouts Madison VanDonsel, Grace Goebel, Anna Lubrant, Madelyn Wredberg, Aidan Lester and Hailey Larsen; back row Aryan Brinda, Miranda Jennings, Anika Hammill, Jillian Leom and Arianna Newgard helped distribute books for the Reading Around Town program.

The third-grade Brownie Troop 186 of Milaca Girl Scouts helped out the Reading Around Town program Tuesday, April 10.

After delivering books to the local businesses, the girls ended their day with a tour of the Milaca Public Library and applied for a library card if they didn’t already have one.

Local businesses that participate in the R.A.T. program include Bremer Bank, the Midtown Plaza building, Cuts on Central, Embers, Hobnetti’s Pizza, Molacek Family Eyecare, Fairview Northland Clinic, Milaca Food Shelf, Teal’s Market, Mille Lacs County Times, Natural Elements, Pizza Hut, Radiance Spa and Salon, 1st National Bank, City Hall and Koch’s Hardware.

Children are encouraged to take theses books, read them, enjoy them, and pass them on to another friend or bring them back to another R.A.T rack.
