Library to host author

Author Connie Lounsbury will speak from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10 Milaca Community Library about her experiences writing memoirs.

Lounsbury, whose writing career began in 1993, has earned numerous writing awards, including first place in the inspirational category of the 2001 Writer’s Digest Writing Competition and winner of the 1998 Guideposts’ Writer’s Contest.

She is author of “Quit Your Job and Make Ends Meet” and co-author of “Reaching Past the Wire: A Nurse at Abu Ghraib.” She was also recently awarded the National Association of Professional Women’s 2012-2013 Executive and Professional Woman of the Year award for outstanding inspirational guidance.

Her latest project, “Thrift Store Shoes: A Memoir,”  encourages a closer relationship with God. Lounsbury lives in rural Minnesota with her family, where she teaches writing and operates a speaking ministry.
