County board elects new chair

Commissioner Jack Edmonds, District 1 (city of Princeton), was elected chair of the Mille Lacs County Board at its Jan. 3 meeting.
Edmonds, in his eighth year as a commissioner, replaces Phil Peterson, Milaca, from District 3 (city of Milaca and Milaca and Page townships).
Commissioner Roger Tellinghuisen, Milaca, was chosen as vice chair.
Tellinghuisen serves District 4 which includes the cities of Bock and Onamia and townships of Bogus Brook, Borgholm, Dailey, Hayland, Mudgett, Bradbury, Onamia and Lewis.
Committee appointments for 2012 were then made, with a few changes made from last year’s list.
The board will continue to meet at 9 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, with work sessions scheduled immediately following board meetings on the third Tuesday.
County depositories redesignated for 2012 are First National Bank of Milaca, Bremer Bank, Peoples Bank of Commerce and PFM Asset Management LLC.
Dr. Quinn Strobl was reappointed county medical examiner for 2012.
