Obituary PhotographFuneral services for Mildred "Millie" Eva Lehman Ryan Plaisted, 96, of Sandstone formerly of Milaca were held on Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 at the Memorial Drive Bible Fellowship Church in Askov with the Rev. Gregg Nelson officiating. Soloist was Tim Zaudtke and organist was Joanna Schutt. Pallbearers were Lee Juhl, Christopher Juhl, Wes Oesterich, Roylene Rippentrop, Kimberly Bachman, Terry Jo Klous and Scody Oesterich. Burial was at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Milaca.

Millie died July 29, 2007 at home in Sandstone.

She was born April 7, 1911 in Sisseton, S.D. She had previously lived in Greaney and Milaca. She had lived in Bruno, Minn. from Nov. 4, 1961 until Oct. 14, 2005 when she moved to Sandstone to live with her daughter.

Millie was a retired postal clerk but also had retired from many occupations such as township clerk, farming, café/dance club owner and grocery store owner just to name a few. The most important occupation to her was the babysitting of her grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren to whom all of her family is thankful and will always remain grateful. She was a member of the Danish Brotherhood, NFO, Farmers Union and several charitable organizations.

Millie was an avid dancer, bowler, card player and cribbage being her final hobby. She loved to read, sew, garden, and listen to her records. Her greatest love was to spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, MichElaine J. Ryan Rippentrop of Askov, Minn. and Marilyn Ryan Miels Juhl of Sandstone, Minn.; her brother, Leonard (Madeline) Lehman of Denver, Col.; sisters-in-law, Helen Lehman and Olive Lehman; stepchildren, Melvin "Pete" (Ann) Plaisted, Allen (Judy) Plaisted and Audrey (Morris) Espointour; grandchildren Terry Jo (John) Klous, Kimberly Ann (Tim) Bachman, Roylene Rippentrop, Scody Lynn Miels Oesterich Redmond (Michael), Crystal (Dan) Hansen, Christopher Loren Juhl (Chelsea Cronin), Lee Loren Juhl (Amanda Scholten) and Kathy Miels wife of deceased grandson, Vincent Miels; great-grandchildren, Colby Dylan Rippentrop, Mallissa Miels (Kenny Fromm), Mason Miels, Monty Miels, Josh Klous, Quincy Klous, Alex Klous, Mackenzie Klous, Ashley Bachman, Nick Bachman, Michelle Jorgensen, Bobbie Jo Nohner, Jake Nohner, Leslie Nohner, Allen Oesterich, Esteighna Oesterich, Logan Oesterich, Qaiden Redmond, Chesney Redmond, Jade Hansen, Adriana Hansen, Aubrie Hansen, Grace Juhl, Chris and Chelsea's baby due in November and four great-great-grandchildren,Darren Jorgensen, Taylor Brisk, Abigail Fromm and Tanner Fromm.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael "Joe" Ryan April 15, 1961 and her second husband, Irvin Plaisted Oct. 1980; three sons who died at birth; her parents, Oscar Simmons Lehman and Matilda Kaiser Lehman; her brothers and sisters, Earl and Gladys Lehman, Roy Lehman, Lillian Letourneau Engstrom and Tom Letourneau and Ole Engstrom, Oscar and Pearl Lehman, Clarence Lehman, Lyno Lehman, Leora "Sister" Lehman; granddaughters, Becky L. Rippentrop Jorgensen, Lori D. Rippentrop Nohner and grandson, Vincent W. Miels; step-children, Robert Plaisted and Norma Plaisted.

Arrangements were by Methven Funeral Home, Sandstone, Minn.
