Reed Bye
Reed Bye of Milaca graduated from the Minnesota State Patrol Training Academy at a ceremony held at Camp Ripley May 16. Bye will be assigned to the State Patrolıs West Metro district.
Bye graduated from Central Lakes College and attended law enforcement skills training at Range Technical College. Before becoming a state trooper, he worked for the Mille Lacs County Sheriffıs Department.
Bye is married with two children: Brett, 10, and Brianna, 4. He enjoys fishing, camping, hunting and spending time with family and friends.
His father, Sgt. Ray Bye, is also a Minnesota state trooper.

Peter Beckstrom
Peter Beckstrom of Milaca participated in the annual commencement ceremony of Alexandria Technical College on May 14, 2003. He was in the welding technology program.

Jonathan Bostrom
Jonathan Bostrom, son of Don and Jean Bostrom of Zimmerman, has been awarded the William Fletcher King Music Scholarship to Cornell College. This prestigious award, which is a full tuition scholarship, is the top honor that can be bestowed upon an entering freshman.
Jonathan, who has studied with Solveig Gerstenkorn of Milaca, Minn. for eight years, has also won many Minnesota Music Awards. He has been a state winner in the Minnesota Music Teachersı annual contests for six years and this year he is an ensemble winner in the Minnesota Young Artist Piano Competition. In addition, he has received many annual awards for his high distinction marks in the MN Comprehensive Music Exams. This year he also won an award for achieving the highest score in the Central MN Music Teachers Theory exam.
Jonathan will be performing at Northrup Auditorium on the University of Minnesota Minneapolis campus in an Honors Concert on May 31, 2003, followed by performances in recitals at Solveig Gerstenkornıs home on June 17 and 18.
