Elwood Montcalm

Elwood H. łAl˛ Montcalm, 79, of Milaca, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at the Elim Home in Princeton.

He was born Feb. 23, 1924 in Grand Rapids, Minn., to Wilfred and Stella Montcalm. He married Grace Jacobs on Jan. 17, 1948. Al worked in construction as a pipe fitter, pipe wrapper, drain tiler and cement finisher. He was a member of Union Local 557. Al enjoyed playing cribbage and pool, and he loved a good joke.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard; his parents; and his brother, James.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; and daughter, Renee Montcalm of Virginia.

A memorial service was scheduled Wednesday, May 21, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca. A graveside service was scheduled Thursday, May 22, at 1 p.m. at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids.

Arrangements were by the Libbey Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.
