Kenneth Janeksela

Kenneth E. Janeksela died at his home May 16, 2003.

He was born June 16, 1924 in Ely, Minn., and grew up there. In 1943 he went into the U.S. Navy and served on the USS South Dakota until 1946. In 1948, during the Korean War, he entered the Army and was stationed in Okinawa until 1951. On July 9, 1949, Ken married Alice Jean Trimble of Milaca. He retired from the army as a Sergeant First Class in April of 1953. After leaving the service, he attended Moler Barber School and was self-employed as a barber until retirement in 1994.

Ken is survived by Jean, his wife of 54 years; daughter, Tracy (Larry) Hanson and son, James (Amy); grandchildren, Kelly and Jamie Hanson, Alecia, Connor and Chase Janeksela; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
