Harold Johnson
Burial was at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Music was provided by Ann Johnson and Dale Hunter. Pallbearers included Dwayne Johnson, Harley Eggen, Russell Wollum, Larry Sundsvold, Dennis Danger and Alan Ruis. Military honors were provided by Hansen-Hayes American Legion Post 178 and Siemers-Hakes VFW Post 10794. Arrangements were by the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at the Milaca Elim Home. He was born April 2, 1913 to Ludwig and Constance Johnson in Milaca. He attended school in Milaca and after completing his schooling he worked for area farmers and did carpentry work and later worked for Land O¹ Lakes. He married Violet Pearson Jan. 24, 1942 at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca. He entered the service in 1942 and when he returned home in 1945 he started farming near Milaca. He farmed until his retirement in 1974. In 1993, Violet and Harold moved into Milaca. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and traveling. He was a member of the Milaca American Legion and the Zion Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He is survived by his sister, Brunelle and husband Donald Gilbertson of Big Lake; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet; brother, Sherman; sisters, Clara, Runghold, Helen and Mary Jane; and infant siblings, Norman Lee Johnson and Shirley Ann Johnson. ©Mille Lacs County Times |
