Wolves inspire local pianist By DAWN SLADE Wolves were the inspiration for Faith Marie Yngsdahl¹s latest CD ³Heart of a Lone Wolf.² The eight piano selections on the new age CD were written and performed by Faith Marie, of Mora. Accompaniment on the CD is by the International Studio Orchestra, which includes Cedardale Recording Studio owner Terry Nord and music technician John Voit. This is Faith Marie¹s second CD. The first, ³Northwoods Singin¹ with Hook and Birdie² consisted of humorous, country songs written and recorded by Faith Marie and her husband Darrell. ³Northwoods Singin¹² was originally recorded in 1988 and recently rereleased as a CD. It features a Minnesota fishing opener favorite, ³Let¹s Go Fishing On Mille Lacs.² But the latest, ³Heart of a Lone Wolf² is strictly Faith Marie¹s work. The song ³Lone Wolf (Paul¹s Song)² was inspired by a friendship they had with a young musician named Paul, who played guitar on their first CD. Paul died at a young age and in the CD¹s tribute Faith says he was a musician who lived with a heart possessing the freedom and love that is found in nature. Each ³Heart of a Lone Wolf² CD features ³True Wolf Stories² - a collection of short stories written by Faith Marie¹s 83-year-old mother Irene Imm. The booklet¹s stories incorporate photographs of wolves courtesy of the Wildlife Science Center. Faith Marie, who promotes playing by ear and by the heart, hopes the CD will be used for therapeutic purposes in classrooms, nursing homes or pain clinics. Faith Marie and Darrell will be at two CD signing events on Saturday, July 12 in Milaca during the Milaca Chamber of Commerce Craft Fair. The musicians will be at SD Promotions at 10 a.m. and Milaca Depot Floral at 11 a.m. Both CDs will be available for purchase on Saturday.
