Joan Minks

Funeral services for Joan Marie Minks, 43, of Milaca, were held Thursday, July 3, 2003 at the Peterson Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with the Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating.

Joan died Monday, June 30 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

She was born May 5, 1960 to Robert and Marilyn (Olifeck) Hoffman in Milaca. Joan started school in Bock and attended Milaca High School, graduating in 1978. She later attended Rasmussen Business College in Minneapolis for a few years. Joan married Steven Minks March 6, 1982 in Bock. She worked as a financial intake worker for Mille Lacs County Family Services before changing to Benton County where she worked for five years in social services. She later spent time caring for her family. Joan loved cats, and her hobbies included gardening and crocheting.

Joan is survived by her husband, Steven; son, Michael; sister, Connie Kryzer of Bock; mother, Marilyn Olifeck of Milaca; grandmother, Edith Peterson of Milaca; nieces and nephews; and her special cats, Bootsy, Poopers, Squirt, Goober, Wally, Lucy, Scrubby, Tootsie, Gizzy, Morris (Mama Fatty), Daisy, Pumpkin, Rosie, Scooby (Big Skinny), Pooh and Romeo; and dogs, Lassie and L.B.
