Memorial services for Carl ³Jim² Engebretsen, 74, of Aitkin and formerly of Milaca, were held Monday, June 30, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Aitkin. There was a private burial.

Arrangements were with the Cremation Society of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

He died June 25, 2003 at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Carl ³Jim² was preceded in death by grandson, Jeremy Jack Engebretsen.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ruth; sons, Jay (Cheryl) Engebretsen and Jac (Barb) Engebretsen; daughters, Jan (Dave) Daiker, Jody (Rick) Cox and Jenna (Dave) Wise; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Glen, Bob, Roy, Wes and Lee; sisters, Peggy Maxwell, Lil Vaughn and Ruth Aydt; stepchildren, Don (Bonnie) Laufenberg, Deb (Don) Thompson and Kris (Dave) Hazelton; four step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
