Kolb, Lindgren It was a long election night that pushed well into Wednesday morning before the final results were tallied. The race for Mille Lacs County Attorney was close, with Jan Kolb beating Todd Pierce by 720 votes, 5,153-4,433. Brent Lindgren will be the next Mille Lacs County Sheriff. Lindgren won over Mike Mott by 1,755 votes, 5,872-4,117. The race for county commissioner in District 2 (Milo, Greenbush and Princeton townships and the cities of Pease and Foreston) was as close as seven votes. Roger Neske inched past Dave Tellinghuisen, with 1,067 votes to Tellinghuisenís 1,060. According to Mille Lacs County Auditor/Treasurer Phil Thompson, there will be an automatic recount once both candidates have been notified and representatives for both are present at the recount. In District 1 (City of Princeton) Dick Satterstrom won over Dale Dunham, 793-616. The new commissioner for District 3 (Page and Milaca townships and the City of Milaca) is Phil Peterson who defeated Dick Knoll by 801 votes, 1,327-526. District 4 (Bradbury, Onamia, Lewis, Dailey, Mudgett, Hayland, Borgholm and Bogus Brook townships and the cities of Bock and Onamia) will be represented by Bob Hoefert who topped Stub Strelow by 192 votes, 1,065-873. In District 5, Frank Courteau won out over Bob Szrot, 1,495 - 601. Library referendum passes The city of Milaca voted yes for the new library referendum.
