ïThe Milaca Nursery PreSchool has moved to a new home in the Community Service and Learning Center, the former Milaca Middle School. The nursery preschool moved from the Methodist Church. Prior to that it was located at Zion Lutheran Church. Enrollment is currently at 55, according to director Kirsten Neely.
ïDr. McKinley Boston, menís athletic director at the University of Minnesota, will be guest speaker at the Milaca Chamber of Commerce meeting Nov. 10.
ïIndependent Energy magazine of Milaca has organized an international forum on power which will be held in New York City Nov. 12-13. Donald Marier of Milaca is executive editor of the magazine.

ïThe new Citizens State Bank in Milaca will host an open house Nov. 9-12. Dan Fiala is board chairman, Dallas Olson is president and Tom Kolb is senior vice president and insurance agency manager.
ïThree 4-H leaders were recognized for a decade of volunteer leadership during the annual 4-H banquet at Bethany Lutheran Church in Princeton. Honored were LeRoy Haeg of the Foreston club, Marion Kruschke of the Southern Sunshine Club and Myra Luedke of the Greenbush club.

ïThe junior class at Milaca will present the play "The Little Dog Laughed" Nov. 17-18. The cast includes Marie Christensen, John Minks, Kris Johnson, Cheryl Godeke, Chris Fransen, David Peterson, Philip Schenck, Darlene Los, Jill Anderson, Roxanne Weikle, Sharon Blomquist, Peggy Meyer, Kerry DeBoer and Les Koppendrayer. Student directors are Nancy Edgren and Linda Hjort. Director is Bob Cady.
ïMrs. Doris Carlson of Milaca was the winner of a Maytag dryer at the grand opening of Fransen Furniture in downtown Milaca.

ïFire completely destroyed the large garage and machine shed at the Gay Osborne farm one mile west of Pease Thursday, Oct. 25.
ïThe Milaca Methodist Church will host its annual turkey supper tonight (Nov. 1) at the high school cafeteria. Tickets are $1.25 for adults and 75 cents for children.

ïHans Dahl defeated Milton C. Schendel in the race for Mille Lacs County Sheriff in Tuesdayís election while John S. Nyquist defeated H.H. Burry in the race for county attorney. Republican Harold Stassen was re-elected Minnesota governor as he defeated Hjalmar Petersen of the Farmer-Labor Party.
ïA hiking club has been organized in Milaca and members took their first hike last Monday morning, covering a distance of four miles. Club members include Edwin Odegard, Prof. Gamble, George Johnson, Harry Fortnum and Rev. Harold Hansen.
ïThe Mille Lacs County Farm Bureau was organized at a meeting at Harmonia Hall in Milaca Oct. 30. Mrs. W. J. Hodgdon was elected president and Mrs. John Goltz was elected vice president.
