4-H summer camp scheduled June 11-13

Now is the time to register for a three-day overnight camp especially designed for fourth through eighth graders. Camp will be June 11 - 13 at St. Croix State Park, located east of Hinckley.

The cost is $85, which includes lodging, meals, a t-shirt, all activities and insurance. Bus transportation is also available in certain areas at a cost of $15 round trip. Space is limited and taken on a first come basis, so register early by contacting the Mille Lacs County Extension Office at 320-983-8317 or 1 -888-680-8317 for all the details. A limited numbers of scholarships are available for Mille Lacs County 4-H members.

This yearís theme, "4-H PICKM Olympics," centers on international and recreational fun! Camp gives youth many opportunities to meet new friends, learn new things, share talents and ideas, learn about themselves and have TONS of fun.

Camp will include swimming, adventure games, hands- on workshops, crafts, outdoor recreation, and evening campfires. Seventh and eighth graders will focus on leadership and team building skills by participating in such activities as a field trip to the Northwest Fur Traders Post and a canoe trip down the St. Croix River.

4-H teen counselors and Extension Educators from the counties of Pine, Isanti, Chisago, Kanabec and Mille Lacs are planning this exciting three-day experience.
