Greg Homstad Funeral services for Greg Homstad, 42, were held Saturday, May 25, at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with the Rev. Gerald Vander Hoek and the Rev. John Bylsma officiating. Burial followed at the Pease Cemetery. Pallbearers included Bret Ittel, Luke Homstad, Randy Veurink, Shane Homstad, Kevin Santema, Kurt Homstad, Keith Homstad and Mike Donner. Music was provided by Donna Angermeier, Peggy Swenson, Joe Gourley and the group "Eagleís Eyes on Jesus." Military honors were provided by Hansen-Hayes American Legion Post 178 and Siemers-Hakes VFW Post 10794. Arrangements were by the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Mr. Homstad died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, in Lino Lakes, Minn. He was born Aug. 7, 1959 in Princeton, to Maurice and Emily (Bona) Homstad. He grew up on a farm near Dalbo and attended school in Princeton. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years in the Persian Gulf before being honorably discharged. He returned from his service to farm near Dalbo, in the Stanchfield Lake area. He also worked at Arrow Tank before working as an over-the -road truck driver for Ratzlaff Motor Express and most recently for Skogquist Trucking. He married Jody Santema on March 21, 1998 at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease and they have made their home in Pease. He enjoyed hockey, working out, softball, gardening and taking care of his dog, Chance. He was looking forward to the birth of his daughter, Amelia Lynn in July. He is survived by his wife, Jody of Pease; brothers, Ron and wife Bonnie of Milaca, Kevin and wife Kerry of Princeton, Keith of Milaca and Kurt and friend Dawn of Elk River; mother and father-in-law, Harris and Shirley Santema of Milaca; sister-in-law, Holly Santema of Mora; brother-in-law, Kevin Santema of Milaca; and by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Brandon.
