Ruth Edstrom

Funeral services for Ruth Lennea Edstrom, 95, were held Saturday, May 18, at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with the Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating.
Burial was at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Music was provided by Loraine Williams and Mary Wallin.
Ruth died Monday, May 13, 2002, at the Milaca Elim Home.
She was born in Page Township, Mille Lacs County, Minn., Dec. 8, 1906 to Gustaf and Josephine Anderson. She was raised in that area on a dairy farm and attended a one-room school house. On Sept. 4, 1927 she married Richard Edstrom of the Riverside area of Milaca where they also farmed. In 1944, they moved to Milaca and resided there until 1951 when they moved to the Lake Minnetonka area. She lived in the city of Deephaven until June of 1999 when she entered the Elim Home in Milaca.
Her hobbies were cooking, especially trying new recipes, her garden in the summer, her African violets, and her embroidery. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Milaca while they lived in Milaca and also the Minnetonka Baptist Church, having been involved in many different activities within the church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Anderson; sister, Cecelia LaZonc; infant son, Theodore; and daughter, Carol Lundberg.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marietta and Willis Korpi of Finlayson; son-in-law, Jon Lundberg of Elk River; grandchildren, Shawn (Bill) Logan, Gregg (Amy) Korpi, and Gary (Shaleen) Korpi; and eight great-grandchildren.
